Go behind the scenes of the Shades EQ fashion editorial shoot with American Salon. David Stanko, Redken Expert Colorist and Marianne Dougherty, Editor-In-Chief of American Salon give you the ‘in’ on the photo shoot and how David created the beautiful haircolor. Learn how David used Shades EQ to create the All-American Blonde for CariDee, how he fused in warm auburn tones on Danielle’s virgin light brown hair and how he used the powerful combination of Shades EQ and Color Fusion to transform Olivia into a rich golden brunette.
CARIDEE
CariDee is a natural level 7. To break the base, David Stanko used Redken Shimmer One 8N. Blonde Icing Conditioning Cream Lightener was then used to highlight the hair using a diamond shaped parting on top of the head. Next, David placed the lowlights with a mixture of Shimmer One 8N and 8GB.
David then applied two different Shades EQ glaze formulas, 09G Vanilla Crème was alternated with 000 Crystal Clear to seal in the high and low blonde tones. By alternating the Shades EQ formulas, David showcased dimension at its best resulting in haircolor with superior shine and the subtlest of sheer blonde tones.

DANIELLE
Danielle was a first time client with a natural level 5. David highlighted Danielle hair with three alternating formulas: Color Fusion 6BBc, Color Fusion 8T, Shimmer One 6C.
Shades EQ 08C Cayenne was used between the Color Fusion foils to infuse warm auburn tones onto Danielle’s brunette base. Shades EQ was the perfect choice to warm up her natural light brown hair with auburn notes and provide a soft chocolate base for the highlights to glimmer.

OLIVIA
Olivia is a natural level 5 with about 25% gray. David used Color Fusion 6NN on the regrowth area. Next he added random highlights using Blonde Icing Conditioning Cream Lightener.
Shades EQ 09GB Butter Cream was perfect to refresh Olivia's Color Fusion base formula and to tone her Blonde Icing highlights. 09GB is versatile enough to add expensive-looking gold tones to her newly gray covered hair while also adding subtle refinement to her highlights. This end-result haircolor could not be achieved without SHADES EQ 09GB.
