Winter 2008 Haircolor Trends

The winter season is quickly approaching and Redken’s annual haircolor collection brings consumers the season’s must–have haircolor. Taking inspiration directly from Fashion Week runways, Redken debuts a new collection — the NEW Spotlight Collection — infusing blondes, brunettes and redheads with multi–dimensional sophistication, seductive shine and soft reddish–brown tones with subtle hints of violet. Featuring six calibrated Mahogany Violet shades from Redken’s Color Fusion and Shades EQ haircolor brands, the NEW Spotlight Collection offers versatile, new fashion–focused add–on services that will keep clients coming back season after season!

The new Spotlight Collection shades are on–trend for blonde, brunettes, and redheads this winter season. Blonde clients will look for a chic champagne hue with hints of soft rose or violet tones similar to Nicole Richie this season. Brunettes won’t want to go too dark, and will look for a rich, sultry brown with soft violet reflects, think Amanda Peet. And redheads will shy away from bright red color and look for luxurious, sophisticated, cool red–brown tones, similar to Lindsay Lohan.

COLOR FUSION MAHOGANY GLAM

The three permanent Color Fusion Mahogany Violet shades impart a cool and sophisticated veil of plum tones over rich mahogany shades. Use alone, mix with the N, Br, Rv, Vr or Gv series for luxe multi–dimensional results, or achieve gray coverage by mixing with the N (for neutral to cool results) or Gb (for warm results) series to accent high–fashion and high–impact, refined color creations. Like all Color Fusion products, Color Fusion Mahogany Violet features Redken’s Colorbond Technology which includes High Tenacity Dyes that lock together inside the hair; Ceramide that repairs the surface and seals the hair to protect the beauty of the color; Cationic Conditioners that nourish and smooth the hair; and Coconut Oil that helps form a protective barrier against water.

New shades:

• .  7Mv: Medium red–brown/violet blonde
• .  6Mv: Dark red–brown/violet blonde
• .  4Mv: Medium red–brown/violet brown

Mix Color Fusion shades in a 1:1 ratio of color to Pro–oxide Cream Developer (10, 20, 30, 40 volume). Example: 2 oz. (60ml) of 7Mv Mahogany/violet Color Fusion + 2 oz. (60ml) of 20 volume Pro–oxide Cream Developer.

On/Off Scalp Application: Process at room temperature for 35–45 minutes. Do not use heat. Rinse, shampoo and condition with Color Extend. For off–Scalp Techniques: After wrapping last foil, process for 30 minutes at room temperature. Rinse, shampoo and condition with Color Extend.

SHADES EQ MAHOGANY GLAM

Shades EQ Mahogany Violet demi–permanent shades infuse blondes and brunettes with soft reddish–brown tones with subtle hints of violet. Use alone, as a refresher for the Color Fusion Mv series or mix with the Shades EQ RB, R, RV and GB series to create unique, glamorous reflects. Shades EQ’s no–lift, non–ammonia formula guarantees no lightening of hair’s natural pigment and prevents swelling and cuticle damage. Additionally, the new shades include acidic pH to ensure gentle processing for outstanding condition and shine; long lasting colorants to create vibrant haircolor that fades on tone; wheat Amino Acids (natural humectants) to lock in moisture and protect condition of hair; and silicone which improves shine and wet combability.

Mix Shades EQ in a 1:1 ratio of haircolor to Shades EQ Processing Solution and use immediately. Standard processing time is 20 minutes at room temperature. Example: 2 oz. (60ml) 08MV Cedar Shades EQ + 2 oz. (60ml) Shades EQ Processing Solution.

Processing with heat: For more vibrant results, process 15 minutes with plastic cap under a pre–heated warm dryer. Remove cap and cool for 5 minutes. To achieve lighter color deposit, use diluted formulas, not reduced processing time. If less color deposit is required, use 000 Crystal Clear; for lighter deposit, use a 09 shade.
