Sectioning
Separate top from bottom by taking a horseshoe shaped parting that begins above the corner of the right eye and moves back, around the crown, and ends above the corner of the left eye. Clip the top out of the way. This is Section 3. Separate the rest of the hair by taking vertical partings at the back of each ear and at center back. This will leave you with four sections on the bottom; one on each side and two in the back. The sections in back are Section 1 and the sections on the sides are Section 2.
Application
- Begin in the back with Section 1 on the right side. Take a diagonal parting that moves down towards the nape. Choose a stitch depending on the end result you want to see: slice for more drama, micro-stitch for more subtlety. Place the hair on to a foil and apply Highlight Formula 1 from scalp to ends. Seal the foil. Skip 1/2 - 1" of hair and repeat the application. Work half-way up the right side of the section and duplicate the application on the left side for consistency. When placing the foils diagonally on the left side, make sure they move down towards the nape. This will appear to be moving in the opposite direction from the right side; the foils will create a "V" shape. Complete Section 1 by working from right to left.
- Continue on to Section 2, the sides. Apply Highlight Formula 1 in the same manner as before. Start in the back and work your way forward, keeping the foils back and away from the face. Place the foils diagonally back, down towards the nape. Apply in the same manner as before using Highlight Formula 1 from scalp to ends. Complete both sides.
- In Section 3, the top, split the section in half to create a right and left side. Stand in the back on the right side and take a diagonal parting. Create your weave and place it on to a foil. Apply Highlight Formula 2 from scalp to ends and seal the foil. Repeat on the left side. Work right to left for consistency and skip 1/2 - 1" sections as you move forward. Complete the section and allow to process at room temperature for up to 50 minutes or until the hair is pale yellow. Shampoo and condition with Color Extend.
- Apply Glaze Formula 1 to dry hair from scalp to ends. Allow to process at room temperature for 20 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and condition with Color Extend.
