SECTIONING
Create a "lightning bolt" — shaped section on top of the head: Begin by taking a zig—zag part that starts above the outer corner of the right eye and moves diagonally back, across the head, to just behind the left ear. Create a second zig—zag part along its side and connect the two parts at each end. the lightning bolt should be no wider than 2 inches at its widest point. Clip this section out of the way. This is Section 2. All remaining hair is Section 1.
APPLICATION
- Begin in Section 1. Apply Base Formula 1 from scalp to ends. Cover with foil when complete to keep the hair isolated from Section 2. Tip: Cut or fold your foils to conform to the shape of the lightning bolt. This will ensure a neat application and prevent the formulas from bleeding together.
- Apply Blocking Formula 1 to Zone 1(regrowth area) of Section 2. When complete, apply Blocking Formula 2 to Zones 2 and 3 (mid—shaft and ends) of Section 2. Lightly lay the hair down on the foil that was laid previously and process at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- Once processing is complete, take Section 2 and wrap it in a foil. Hold it out of the way and rinse Section 1 until the water runs clear. Release Section 2 and continue to rinse, then shampoo and condition with Color Extend.
