SECTIONING
Separate the fringe by taking a wide curved parting that stretches from the outer corner of the right eye to the outer corner of the left eye. At its widest point, the arch should be approximately 1 1/2-2 inches thick, depending on density. Isolate this section; this is Section 2. All remaining hair is Section 1.
APPLICATION
- Divide Section 1 into quadrants for control. Apply Glaze Formula 1, using a tint bottle for speed, from scalp to ends. Take 1/4-inch sections to ensure even saturation. Complete the section and direct the hair back, away from the face.
- Stand on the side of your client, closest to where she parts her hair. Place a foil at the edge of the curved section. Make sure the foil has a 1/2-inch fold at the top and the fold faces up. This fold will be used as a guideline. Take a 1/4-inch slice and place onto the foil. Apply Highlight Formula 1 from the bottom of the fold through the ends. Next, apply Glaze Formula 1 with a short, narrow bristle brush from the scalp to the guideline at the bottom of the fold. Do not fold or cover the foil.
- Take another 1/4-inch slice without skipping any hair. Pull the hair onto the same foil as before. Apply Highlight Formula 1 from the bottom of the fold through the ends. Next, use a short, narrow bristle brush to apply Glaze Formula 1 from the scalp to the guideline at the bottom of the fold. Continue taking 1/4-inch slices and applying color in the same manner. As you continue to take slices, the area where you apply Highlight Formula 1 will get shorter and the area where you apply Glaze Formula 1 will get longer. Continue to keep the guideline and do not overlap the colors. This will ensure the diagonal placement of color when the hair is worn swept to the opposite side. Process at room temperature for 30 minutes. Rinse, then shampoo and condition with Color Extend.
