SECTIONING

  1. Separate top from bottom by taking a horseshoe-shaped section: Start above the outer corner of the right eye and take a parting that extends back, around the crown, and ends above the outside corner of the left eye. Clip this section out of the way. This is Section 4. Extend the horseshoe shape in the back by taking a curved parting that reaches approximately 1 inch above the occipital bone. Clip this crescent-shaped section out of the way. This is Section 3.
  2. Separate the remaining hair by creating a diagonal part that moves from the top right side of the horseshoe down to the bottom left corner in back. The side on the left is Section 2; the side on the right is Section 1. Isolate each section.

APPLICATION

  1. Apply Glaze Formula 1 to Section 1. Start in the back and use a tint bottle for speed. Take 1/4-inch horizontal sections and apply the color from scalp to ends, making sure to get even saturation. As you begin to work on the right side, keep the hair back and away from the face for a clean application. Cover with foil when complete.
  2. Apply Glaze Formula 2 to Section 2 in the same manner. Complete the section and cover with foil to isolate. Move to Section 3 and apply Glaze Formula 3 from scalp to ends as before. Cover with foil when complete.
  3. Stand at the back right corner of your guest. Take a 1/4-inch diagonal slice from Section 1 and place it on a foil. Apply Highlight Formula 1 from the midpoint of the slice down. Turn the tint brush vertically and blur the color at the midpoint to soften the line of demarcation. Cover with foil to isolate. Skip a 1/4-1/2 inch section and take another slice. Place on a foil and, this time, apply Highlight Formula 1 from Zone 1 (regrowth area) to the midpoint. Do not apply color beyond the midpoint. Again, turn the tint brush vertically and blur the color at the midpoint to soften the line of demarcation. Continue taking 1/4-inch diagonal slices as you work forward and alternate the application from top to bottom. Complete the section. Process at room temperature for 20 minutes. Rinse, then shampoo and condition with Color Extend.
