SECTIONING

Create a rectangular shaped section that sits diagonally on top of the head: Start by taking a diagonal parting that begins 1 inch back from the hairline above the center of the right eye, and extends to the parietal ridge above the top of the left ear. Create a parallel parting that begins at the parietal ridge over the top of the right ear and ends 1–1 1/2" in from the parietal ridge on the left. Connect the ends of each parting to create the rectangle. Clip this section out of the way. Isolate the hair that has been left out; this will remain uncolored until the final step.

APPLICATION

  1. Stand behind, at the left corner, and take a 1/4–inch slice from the end of the rectangular section. Place the hair on a foil and apply Highlight Formula 1 from scalp to ends. Cover with a foil when complete. Immediately take another 1/4–inch slice and apply Highlight Formula 1 in the same manner.
  2. Continue to move forward, taking slices—some should have 1/4–1/2 inch of hair left in–between, and some should be back–to–back. This will create a random effect, similar to a "barcode." Process at room temperature for up to 50 minutes, or until the hair in the foils is pale yellow. Rinse, then shampoo and condition with Color Extend.

GLAZE

Dry hair completely. Apply Glaze Formula 1 from scalp to ends. Process at room temperature for 20 minutes. Rinse, then shampoo and condition with Color Extend.
