SECTIONING

  1. Create two triangles on top of the head. Start by making a long curved triangle with a base that sits behind the center of the right eye, approximately 1 inch behind the front hairline. The base is approximately 2–2 1/2 inches long, and the triangle curves back and extends to the back right corner of the head. Isolate this section; this is Section 1.
  2. From the front point of the base of Section 1, create a second triangle. Take a parting that is slightly diagonal and extends to the front hairline, just above the outer of the right eye. From this point, take a parting directly back to Section 1. The triangle you have just created is Section 2. Isolate this section.

APPLICATION

  1. Start in Section 1, standing behind the section. Take a 1/4–inch horizontal slice and place on a foil. Apply Highlight Formula 1 from scalp to ends. Cover with foil to isolate. Skip 1/2 inch of hair and immediately take another 1/4–inch slice. Apply Highlight Formula 1 in the same horizontal manner. Continue until completing the section.
  2. Work in Section 2 by placing the foils diagonally forward, down toward the chin. Apply Highlight Formula 1 to the slices from scalp to ends. Continue to take 1/2–inch slices and skip 1/4 inch between foils. Complete the section. Process at room temperature for up to 50 minutes. Rinse, then shampoo and condition with Color Extend.

GLAZE

Dry hair completely. Recreate the sectioning used for the highlight service. Isolate the triangles. Apply Glaze Formula 3 from scalp to ends to all the hair below the triangles, using a tint bottle for speed and even saturation. Cover with foil when complete. Apply Glaze Formula 2 to Section 1 (the curved triangle in back). Cover with foil to isolate. Complete the service by applying Glaze Formula 1 to Section 2 (the triangle in front). Keep the saturation even and the color back and away from the face. Process at room temperature for 20 minutes. Rinse, then shampoo and condition with Color Extend.
