SECTIONING

Start by finding the natural part and sectioning off at least 1 inch of hair surrounding it. Isolate this section; it will remain uncolored until Step 3. Next, create random triangles around the head. Each triangle should be approximately 1 1/2 inches wide at its base and approximately 2 inches tall. Be sure to position each triangle with its base at the bottom and its apex pointing up toward the top of the head. Isolate these sections.

APPLICATION

Start with the triangles closest to the front hairline: Take 1/4–inch horizontal slices and apply Highlight Formula 1 from scalp to ends. Cover with foil to isolate. Immediately take another 1/4–inch slice and repeat the application; do not skip any hair. Continue until the entire triangle is complete. Tip: Work from right to left to ensure even lift. Start toward the front of the head and work your way back to keep the triangles in front slightly lighter and brighter. Process at room temperature for up to 50 minutes. Rinse, then shampoo and condition with Color Extend.

GLAZE

  1. Dry hair completely and re–isolate the triangles. Divide each triangle in two horizontally. Taking 1/4–inch horizontal slices as before, apply Glaze Formula 2 to the bottom half of the triangle and Glaze Formula 1 to the top half of the triangle. Repeat in all of the triangles and isolate with foil when complete.
  2. Apply Glaze Formula 3 from scalp to ends to all hair remaining outside the isolated triangles. Take 1/4–inch slices to ensure even saturation. Process at room temperature for 20 minutes. Rinse, then shampoo and condition with Color Extend.
